In his North American exhibit debut, At Home, Wood Street Galleries presents a selection of works from London based Hetain Patel including videos, the photographic series ‘Eva’ and a newly commissioned work specifically for the INDIA IN FOCUS exhibition, ‘Jump.’
Hetain Patel is a UK-based artist whose work is about being. Conceptually driven, his practice begins with ideas about identity formation through the use of language and physical movement.
Hetain’s current work inhabits different forms including, photography, video and live performance. Working simultaneously across different media provides the space to explore the multiple dimensions of a single idea.

Nandini Valli Muthiah has rapidly emerged as a central figure in Indian photography. Nandini’s images incorporate traditional ideas of popular Indian art by capturing them in contemporary everyday environments. Her images of Krishna, from the Definitive Reincarnate series, portrays a tired-looking Krishna sitting on the edge of a bed in a luxury hotel room, highlighting the gap in India culture between historic value systems and rapid modernization
